History of the Katsuda name

If anyone knows the history of the Katsuda name, please contact me. I do know that the Katsuda's that are directly related to me (my grandmother is Hanako Katsuda) came from Yucho, Yamaguchi Ken, Japan. I am also looking for the Katsuda mon (family crest). My uncles told me that all the Katsuda's are related, so if any Katsuda relatives find this page and know any information concerning the above information or how the people under Unknown Family Members are related. Please contact me.

Kosuke Katsuda (Yamaguchi, circa 1812)
Tozaimon Katsuda (Yamaguchi, circa 1840)
Miyanosuke Katsuda (born in Yamaguchi circa 1877)
Hanako Janet Katsuda (my grandmother, born in Kauai circa 1914)
Richard Onzuka (Hanako married an Onzuka)
Chris Onzuka (me)

Eduardo Katsuda Jr. emailed me in January 2003 with his lineage.

Kumagoro Katsuda (1860 - ?)
Chozaburo Katsuda (10/10/1893-1978, passing away in Argentina, 4th son out of 7 boys, many of them left Japan)
Immigrated from Tokyo (Kanda-Ku, Nakamachi. 1 chome 7 Banchi) to Peru, Chile, then to Argentina in 1913. He could speak Spanish fluently. He was very good friends with the Japanese ambassador in Buenos Aires and a prisoner in World War 2. Conflicting information by the Argentinian embassy reported his birthday as May 5th.
Eduardo Katsuda (1922 - 1959) - A scholar

There is a street named after Eduardo Katsuda in Córdoba City, Argentina.
Eduardo Katsuda Jr. (1949 - ) - Born and presently lives in Argentina.


Doris (Dee) Katsuda emailed me in May 2002 with her lineage:

Great grandfather married a Katsuda in the mid 1800's and took the Katsuda name because there were no boys in the family.
Grandfather?
Susumu & Umeko Katsuda (aka Sam,1st to immigrate to the US, became a farmer in the US. Married Umeko in the 1920’s.
6 children: Steve, James, John, Ken (Step-father to Traci), Ruby and Doris (Dee).
