The West Side Assassin Speaks Out:
Chris Brennan Answers The Critics

By Chris Onzuka

There has been so much going on with Chris Brennan lately. After his tough match with Antonio McKee, which ended with a spectacular kick to the head, he had to pull out of WEF because of an injury. This is where the controversy began. There have been a lot of people questioning whether Brennan's injury is serious enough for him to pull out of the event. On one side you have Brennan's trainer Marco Ruas and King Of The Cage promoter, Terry Trebilcock, stating that his injury would limit his ability. They were also very honest, stating that Chris Brennan should be at no less than 100% in order to face Matt Hughes. On the other side, there are some that say that Brennan should not have pulled out and that he has an obligation to the WEF. And to complicate matters more, Joe Moreira and Fabiano Iha have voiced in, stating that Moreira has blue, purple, and brown belts that could beat Brennan and that Iha is out of Chris' class. Are you dizzy yet? There is so much buzz concerning Chris Brennan that I thought that I would find out his side of the story from the horse's mouth. Here is the statement that Chris Brennan gave me:

I spoke to Fabiano, and I guess it was some misunderstanding. I never challenged him. I did however ask KOTC who I would be fighting next, and they told me maybe the winner of [Fabiano] Iha and [John] Alessio. Well, since I am the Champ there, I gotta fight who they give me. If Fabiano wants the belt, then I guess we have to fight. If the belt is not so important to him, then I guess this whole thing can be avoided. As far as Joe having blue belts that can choke me out, or that want to choke me out, or me not being on the same level as Fabiano. I think Joe needs to sit down and talk to Fabiano again and ask him to be honest about me. I am not a sport player. I am a fighter, and that is all I do. I train to fight everyday. Everyone thinks they are a bad ass, and they have never had one fight in the cage. If you wanna fight me, you can go win a couple then come talk to me or KOTC. I think Fabiano is tuff, but he has lost his last 3 or 4 fights. I don't want to fight him now. I would like to see him beat his next couple guys, then it may look like a more interesting fight on paper. Anyway, I have nothing against any of these guys, so maybe this is the end of it. Or maybe not?
